CHAPTER 12. PUBLIC PROPERTYCHAPTER 12. PUBLIC PROPERTY\Article 3. Tomorrow Committee

The St. John Centennial Committee shall be known as the St. John Tomorrow Committee.

The St. John Tomorrow Committee shall consist of not less than five nor more than seven members to be appointed by the mayor with the approval of the council. Terms of membership for the initial appointees shall be for September 1, 1987 through June 30, 1988. Terms of members appointed thereafter shall be for a one year period from July 1st to June 30th.

The St. John Tomorrow Committee shall cooperate with the city governing body and civic groups in the city and the surrounding community for the purpose of establishing short-range and long-range plans for making the city more beautiful. The St. John Tomorrow Committee shall be responsible for financing such activities, providing programs and entertainment for such activities, and planning beautification projects for the city.

The St. John Tomorrow Committee shall have the authority to establish committees and name the members thereof for the purpose of carrying out its duties named herein. The St. John Tomorrow Committee shall have the authority to solicit and accept donations for the purpose of financing the aforementioned activities. Such donations shall be made to the city.

The fund which has been established and is now known as the St. John Centennial Commission Fund shall be known as the St John Tomorrow Committee Fund. All moneys received by the St. John Tomorrow Committee shall be deposited in the fund and all moneys expended by the St. John Tomorrow Committee shall be expended from the fund. Vouchers submitted by the committee shall be subject to and shall follow the standards procedure for the submission and approval of vouchers.
